I’ve always been a sucker for good deals and bargains. I struggle with paying high prices for popular brands. I have no shame telling people just how little I’ve paid for something because to me that’s being smart with my money or should I say being a SAVVY shopper!
After seeing Facebook ads and attending this event last night with a friend, I can’t help but do a small business shout-out. I met two women that have that savvy sense as well, Leslie Schlesinger and Sarah Link, founders of Savvy Sister, LLC.

These two ladies became friends while walking their kids to school and about four months after meeting, Leslie shared an idea with Sarah about a consignment sale she attended while in North Carolina. A couple months after that conversation they formed their business in January 2015 and had their first event that May.
Sarah is a former teacher and Leslie worked in architecture. They have learned so much from building their business from the ground up such as web design, marketing, fashion and ways to give back to the community. Way to entrepreneurship, ladies!

The Savvy Sister Sale is a bi-annual event (Spring and Fall) where approximately 120 consignors, vendors and volunteers come together to host what women love… good deals and shopping. It is VERY organized by sizes, colors and categories of active wear, coats, shirts, pants, dresses, handbags, jewelry, accessories and shoes.

This event has motivated me to purge my closet and I plan on consigning with them for the next event in the Spring. They have an amazing system where you can log on and see what items of yours have been sold and how much money you have earned. The minimum percentage you receive is 60%, up to 75%. That’s more than most consignment shops! You can go to their website www.savvysistersale.com for more details.

It is a five-day event from Wednesday – Sunday, Sept. 27th – Oct. 1st. Hours are 10:00 am – 7:00 pm. Saturday and Sunday is half price. It is located at 232 S. York St. in Elmhurst, IL. at the First United Methodist church. Items not sold can either be returned to the consignor or donated to the church where they then host an event for women in need in the community. Love that…giving back to the community!
For those of my followers who aren’t able to attend this wonderful event, I’d like to plug a consignment website that I’ve gotten great brand finds and deals. It’s www.thredup.com. Happy savvy shopping!
